Drydenbury 26th June 2014
Dryden School is a special school in Gateshead for students aged between 11-19 who have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties as their primary area of need.
Due to our emphasis on promoting enterprise within our school to raise standards of achievement and the quality of learning for all of our students, we have been awarded the specialist schools status of being a Business and Enterprise College and our projects have become more ambitious.
Our next enterprise event is going to be a Glastonbury-like festival, which we are calling Drydenbury, on Thursday 26th June 2014. Just like Glastonbury, our festival is going to have live music, arts and awareness raising activities as well as plenty of fundraising opportunities to help our own school funds and the charities and organisations we regularly support.
All of our students in school are going to have a role to play in the development of this event which is going to be the biggest (and hopefully the best) project we have ever undertaken. Our participation in the BBC School Report project is a key element of this as from the launch of the project in school - 27th March 2014, BBC School Report News Day - continual updates on the students' progress, as well as news reports and interviews written by our team of BBC School Reporters (a group of Key Stage 4 students), will be published on this website.
Stay tuned for more information and if you are interested in being part of this event, please contact the school via the contact page on this website: http://drydenschool.weebly.com/contact.html
